THE MOTORHOME IS CLEAN AGAIN

During breakfast yester morning, Mary Ann asked me what I planned on doing for the day…I wanted to carve, but the motorhome needed a bath…Well I had to get the extension hose out, hook it up, get the shampoo bucket out, get the extension for the brush and put it together, get the nozzle and put it on and finally turn the water on and start to wash…I am really glad we have the smaller motorhome when it comes time to clean it up…It would take me about three hours to wash the bus, but it takes me only about an hour to wash our little 30 footer…I am really feeling my age…I was able to wash the front (all those bugs) , left side, and back before having to rest in the lawn chair…Mary Ann felt sorry and brought me a nice cold Mountain Dew…I believe she brought it to me because it has a lot of caffeine…This is her way of getting me going again…Well I finished the right side of the motorhome and thought I would relax for a few minutes and wouldn’t you know it?:”&*??Mary Ann casually said,”Look at all the bugs on the front of the car”…There went my relaxing moment…Well I got the Windex out and some more towels out and asked her, would you mind helping me dry the car if I washed it…Well her energy is four times mine…She put Sunshine on a longer leash and gladly said yes…To give a little back ground, the night before we decided to drive the 15 miles to West Yellowstone and take the car through the car wash and then get a Dairy Queen…Well, coming back, all the bugs in the world decided to head for the front of the Jeep…

Well we finally finished with the chores and decided to have some lunch…After lunch you know what I did…TOOK A NAP…

The worst thing that happened was Mary Ann decided to get the scales out and weigh…She had not lost any weight this week and announced there would be no more Dairy Queens…Stuff happens and life becomes almost unbearable, but she promised me a Weight Watchers milk shake…

I did not take any pictures yesterday because I could not bare to let anyone see me do any work…Please don’t tell anyone because I would loose my reputation…Talk to you later Philip

THE RED ROCK LOOP

Yesterday was beautiful day…Hardly a cloud in the sky with the temperature in the upper 70’s…We could never experience this kind of drive without the Jeep…We pack a lunch with snacks and start the day long trip…We took a shorter loop and it was only 148 miles…There are places that we were just crawling along and then there were places where we could get up to 30 mph…The scenery is as beautiful as any in the world…Still snow in the mountains made a backdrop of an unforgettable experience…Life has a way of changing my outlook to really appreciate the beauty of this world we live in…

The pictures are a good reminder of our experience, but you really don’t have the feel, touch, smells, that come from actually being there…Breathing in higher elevations, feeling the cool breeze rolling and cascading from the snow caped mountain tops to a warm meadow where picnic tables are set up on the lake front of a Federal Refuge…

Animals are everywhere…Birds, deer, prong horns, raptures, and of course the few individuals that venture in there own way…We are on the continental divide that runs from Canada to Mexico…The experience of meeting international individuals and their methods of transportation to concur the divide were experiences that are truly unforgettable…We have met people that were hiking, bicycling, and of course cars and pickups…Our conversations with each encounter is an education within itself…

You may ask about what age group would want to experience the physical strain of going the distance…Some are doing it to beat someone who made it in a shorter time…As one one couple explained, “We are not racing anyone, we are just doing it”…They are senior citizens…We met two young men, one from California and the other one from Maryland…They were challenged to depart from Canada and end in Mexico…

It seems that almost everyone is wanting to talk and relate their experiences…I say almost everyone…And some seem to want to be the south end of a horse going north…We try to remember that some( a lot) of people from other countries and languages are enjoying our great country…Most can speak English and some cannot…I can speak a little Spanish and most often we are able to communicate successfully…

I will talk to you later…DSCN0650DSCN0652DSCN0657DSCN0661DSCN0666As you can see, life has very rewarding for us…Philip

I TRIED FACEBOOK, BUT LIKE DOING THE BLOGG

Facebook is a good communication tool, but I just don’t like not being able to really use it as a diary…This is more for my benefit than any reader I may encounter…

Life has been really unusual here in Island Park…We came in three weeks ago in a snow storm and have been very happy not experiencing the 110 degree weather back home in Arizona…We wake up to temperatures in the low 40’s and we consider it a warm day if it reaches the 70’s…I want to carve most mornings but it is too cold until afternoon…You see I have a problem…Mary Ann will not let me carve in the motorhome…She said it was something about chips and sawdust all over the inside of the motorhome…Today looks like a beautiful day starting out…We are too far north for the fires in Colorado to effect us…We are sadden for the people involved…We have camped all over that area and know is very well…Beautiful country and wonderful people…

Mary Ann is busy crocheting for grandkids and the coming of great grandkids…She really enjoys making these precious gifts with much love in every stitch…

She just came in and asked where did I want to go today and I told here it was her choice for the day…There are so many things to see and do in this area that are never without some place to go…Weather it is an old mining town or Old Faithful in the park, we are never without something to do or see…We have already attended some astronomy lecture and looking forward to the wildlife that surround us…Buffalo On Madison 2012 003

Well, I believe Mary Ann has decided to take the Jeep on Red Rock Road…This will be about a 300 mile day…I will take some pictures and publish them here…Talk to you later…Philip
