Meetings And Honey Doo"s

I had to get up early and go to an eight o'clock meeting...Still meeting about the acoustics in the Ball Room...We have had the commode not holding water for a while...If you are familiar with the commodes in a RV, the ball in the bottom of the commode will leak...Well to keep mama happy a new one was put in after the meeting...Only took about 45 minutes, so I really don't have much to complain about...Mary Ann had another meeting with her group in planning for the Variety Show next February...We had a great steak dinner and watched TV for awhile and went to bed about 9pm...Here I am up at 3:30 checking out the e-mail...I will go back to bed in a few minutes and sleep until Mary Ann wakes me up for a shower and breakfast...Talk to you later... This is Teresa and Mary Ann on our back pourch

A Full Day

Well we got Teresa to the airport on time...Mary Ann wanted fish for lunch...That really sounded good...I got some catfish and Mary Ann got the special for the day...We did pig out and decided just to have a turkey sandwich for dinner...The turkey was left over from Sunday dinner...When we got home and started to relax the phone started ringing...Mary Ann had made reservations for Labor Day week end and was getting together with her family...Those with motor homes were making reservations at a RV park while those without motor homes reserved hotel rooms...I think everyone is set for Labor Day...We now must get busy and get the motor home ready for the summer trip...We plan on leaving the first week in May...There are some areas I want to return in New Mexico on our way to Colorado...Brent just called and told me about a new bid from the acoustics engineer and wanted me to see the progress of the remodeling of the stage in the Ball Room...The stage is large enough to accommodate almost any production that might be using it...I am beginning to get sleepy so I better get back to bed...Philip

Time For Teresa's Flight

I had a great night's sleep...We will need to leave by 9:45am to get Teresa back to the airport...Mary Ann is still asleep and Teresa is in the motor home still sleeping...We like the motor home when traveling because it does not inconvenience any one...Those we visit do not have to make special arrangements for our visit...We stay in our own bed, go to bed when we please, and get up when we please, and we are not in the way when those we visit are in their regular morning schedule...We will probably eat lunch out today and enjoy the afternoon...I will try to up date you tonight....Philip

I WENT TO BED TOO EARLY

Saturday, I messed around and just watched TV and did nothing...It seems that I get more fatigued when I do nothing...Mary Ann and Teresa went to Frank Loyd Wright's place and spent the day...By 8:30PM I was ready for bed...I turned on the TV in the bedroom and went to sleep almost immediately...Mary Ann turns out the light and the TV and I never know when she comes to bed...Now here it is 1:30 AM and I am wide awake...I will get sleepy in a little while and go back to bed...Today Mary Ann is going to cook a turkey and make some of her northern dressing...I still prefer cornbread dressing...My plans for today is to go out to the shop (some call it a studio) and do some carving...We will be leaving in a few days, in the motor home, so I will need to cut out some blanks on the band saw so I will have plenty to carve on the road...I always look forward to leaving on our summer adventures and at the same time look forward to coming back in the fall...I will try to bring you up to date tonight what went on during the day...Philip

Picked Up Teresa

We made it to the air port (Shy Harbour) and waited on the (late flight) from Omaha...We picked up Teresa and went to dinner at the ORGAN STOP PIZZA...This is a fun place to be entertained by an organist that is playing request from the customers...This is not just an organ...It has a full and I mean a full house of pipes, horns, drums, bells, whistles, and various sound makers, along with marionettes dancing and performing with the rhythm...The pizza was good also...All of this was controlled by the organist...Well we got home, I went to bed while the girls stayed up and talked...Had a great night's sleep and have now showered and dressed...The girls are going shopping and I am going into the shop and do some carving...I am still working on a cardinal that I wanted to finish for Mary Ann by Valentines...I didn't say which year...I will talk to you later tonight and let you know how the day went...Philip

Meetings all day

Well I got my haircut yesterday and had it cut very short...I can still part it, but that is about all...Made a CD from the pictures of the rally...Checked on some bands for the Elks entertainment...I ate a large bowl of beans for lunch and my afternoon and night were miserable...I am sure Mary Ann didn't enjoy it very much either...We are trying to get ready for Teresa's arrival tomorrow afternoon...We have plans, but you know how plans sometimes work out...There is so much entertainment in our area, that it becomes a trial to try to make a choice...I had to get up early to meet with the engineers and contractors that are making bids for the acoustics in the ballroom this morning...Then I had a meeting with the directors for the Christmas Show...They added a couple of things to my act and we agreed that I would do them...Took Sunshine for a ride in the golf cart and now trying to catch up on my blog...Mary Ann is calling me to dinner...You guessed it, NO BEANS TONIGHT....Talk to you later...Philip

Electrical Problems Solved

Got up this morning and asked my neighbor, who is a retired electrical engineer, to take a look and see if anything was serious with my electrical system...He said that he would have to cut off the electricity for a minute...He reset some switches and bingo, all is OK...If you are married and ever been out of a washing machine and she wants to wash, you know what pressure was relieved...Thank goodness for electricity...We went to the post office to get our mail...Had quite a bit because we were unable to check it since last Tuesday...Resort manager asked me to attend a meeting next Wednesday for the sound engineer was to meet with us...I hope I can get my hair cut in the morning...I am really looking ragged...Philip

Electrical Problems At Home

We arrived at Happy Trails about ten o'clock and started unpacking the motor home...Sunshine, our K-9 companion was really glad to get out and into the house...As we were settling in we realized we had an electrical problem...We checked everything and found that part of our house had low voltage...Today being Sunday, we will just wait until tomorrow to call an electrician...It is now getting late and I need to get some rest...Will let you know how things work out about the electricity...Philip

Last Day At Tri-State

I am getting ready to go to a GPS class...We did not bring the Saturn, so I have to walk every where...My legs are definitely rebelling from so much exercise...I really do need to walk more, especially since my back is doing so well...I had to help with the sound last night...I was not familiar with their mixer and had to trace the wires to locate which mike was located where...Well it is time for me to go to class on the GPS...Mary Ann thinks I could teach the class but I have learned to keep my mouth shut, and really I do learn something new each time...I will talk to you later...Philip

First Full Day At The Ralley

We are really enjoying the rally...This is our first outing with the Rambling Suns Elks Lodge of Sun City...We have felt at home with our new found friends...Their ability to welcome new members is one that others should copy...I have to dump the gray water...The campground will not allow the sewer hose left on the ground...We do not have anything to elevate ours off the ground...In fifteen years of RV'ing, this is the first time this has been required...There are all types of tournaments and games being played... It is very relaxing to be able to kick back and do only those thing that moves my fancy...We will depart Sunday morning...Just kicking back...Philip

We Have Arrived

We found our space and are hooked up...They are having special hot dog supper tonight at 6pm...We are getting great reception from the satellite for the TV...I will let you know how things are going as time goes by ...I seem to forget that I haven't told you where we are in...Tonopah, Arizona...Saddle Mountain RV Park...Talk to you later...Philip
Our target for departure is 10am...I got to put up the golf cart and the Saturn...We only have about 60 miles to go...Because we live in the desert, this will put us in deeper...Fresh water tank is full, black and gray empty...Mary Ann has gone to the store to purchase deodorant...Who needs to smell good in the middle of the desert...OOOO yes, the fuel tank is full...I hope to report later this evening...Philip

All Packed and Ready

The motor home is ready for the morning departure...We are looking forward to getting away for a few days...We will not be pulling the Saturn this trip...we will only be gone until Sunday...I am trying to select some pictures to post...I am learning how to handle this blog, so have patients with me until I learn..Will post later...Philip

GETTING STARTED

This is my first try at trying to make a daily record of my life experiences...I love life and each adventure the day brings...We are getting ready for our first camping rally of the season...Our lifestyle is very simple...Mary Ann is busy with the Variety Show Team, getting ready for next season...Our year is basically divided into two separate seasons...We are getting ready to start our travel portion, which begins in May and we return in October to Arizona...From October until May we live in Happy Trails Resort, Surprise, Arizona...We are referred to as Snow Birds by the people who live year around in Arizona...I stay busy with my wood carving...I generally carve realistic animals and birds...I will try to post daily along with pictures of our daily activities...I hope to meet any of you down the road...I will close now and see if I can save this...Philip
